The contribution of trees and GI (Green Infrastructure) to creating resilient cities

Pier 3 Room, The Lowry, Salford Quays
Wednesday, 21 November, 2018 - 08:30
Wednesday, 21 November, 2018 - 16:00

A range of speakers will showcase examples from across the globe as well as Greater Manchester highlighting how GI, both in our cities and on the urban fringe, can play an integral role in helping to address some of our most complex urban environmental problems such as flooding, vulnerability to extreme heat and poor air quality.

The seminar will also highlight the importance of GI in setting the scene for investment, strengthening communities and creating places that people want to live, work and play in.

Chaired by Marcel Ridyard, Senior Associate, AFL Architects with speakers including GMCA Green Lead Cllr Alex Ganotis plus representatives from Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Birmingham, ARUP, Capital and Centric and Planit-IE. For full details of speakers visit the City of Trees website.
