Caroline is the Executive Director of MERCi and leads and supports the MERCi team. She has worked as a manager, designer, magazine editor, researcher, policy maker and environmentalist in various fields such as recycling, community development, agricultural extension, environmental education and sustainable development.  Over the years she has worked for local and national governments, private businesses and the voluntary and community sector so has a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that all the sectors face.  She is passionate about sustainability and communication and has an MSc in Environmental Resources and a Diploma in Art and Design. She has written books on the importance of trees, local vegetables and better farming and delivered lectures at the Darwin Syposium and Salford University, taught in Africa, India and China and has also attended a number of courses at Schumacher College on systems thinking, behavioural change and leadership. She is an Associate Member of IEMA and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
